Mary June Burns Woodruff (1946-2015)

Woodruff, Mary June, 68, office assistant, died May 23. Memorial services 11 a.m. Saturday, Lynlee Mae Chapel (John M. Ireland, Moore).

Mary June Woodruff, age 68, of Norman, passed away May 23, 2015. She was born October 18, 1946, in Pampa, Texas. 

Mary was an avid reader. She would often tune out the rest of the world and read. At one time, Mary was involved with the First Church of the Nazarene in Norman, where she was active in the women’s ministry. Mary loved playing Bingo and going to the casino at different times in her life. She hated to cook, but she was a devoted housekeeper. Every Saturday, she would take down pictures and knick-knacks and dust behind them. Everyone said she had a spotless home. Mary loved to spend time with her family, especially her sister, who was not just her sister, but her best friend. 

Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Gary Woodruff, of Norman; 1 son, Don Woodruff, of Tampa, FL; father, Wylie M. Burns, of Norman; sister, Glenda Garrison & husband, David, of Ponca City; step-sister, Jeannie Gates, of Houston, TX; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends. She is preceded in death by her mother, Jennie (Smith) Burns; step-mother, Audrey Burns; 1 son, Dean Woodruff; and 1sister, Beverly Cox. She is the cousin of Robert Mann also from the Pampa High School Class of 1965.

A Memorial Service for Mary will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Lynlee Mae Chapel, 507 E. Main Street, in Moore, OK. Services are under the direction of the John M. Ireland Funeral Home, Moore, OK.
