Sammy J. Whatley (1946-2000)

Sammy J. Whatley, 55, died Sunday, April 30, 2000. Mr. Whatley was born in Pampa. He was certified to minister by the Texas Department of Criminal Justice Institutional Division at the Jordan Unit in Pampa. He was a professional horseshoer. He participated in rodeos and had several saddles to his credit. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church and the Fellowship of Christian Cowboys in Pampa.

Survivors include a daughter, Shana Whatley of Stephenville; a son, Shawn Whatley of Dalhart; a step-daughter, Shara Bell of Mobeetie; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
