Dickie Beckham

Richard Lee "Dick" Beckham (1946-2005) 

Richard Lee "Dick" Beckham, 58, died Thursday, April 14, 2005. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Miller Funeral and Cremation Services Chapel. Mr. Beckham lost his courageous battle with renal cell cancer on Thursday. He was born July 15, 1946, to Harold and Lela Beckham in Pampa. He proudly served his country in the Navy and was in the Vietnam War. During his tour in the military he was awarded three Bronze Stars, a Silver Star and two Purple Hearts. He lived most of his life in Amarillo and Houston. One of the many gifts Richard leaves with us is his unconditional love for family and many friends. His unfailing sense of honor, honesty and Christian morals will be missed by everyone whose life he has touched. We are saddened by his passing and celebrate that he is in the loving arms of God. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn Williams-Beckham; a sister, Cheri Duggan and husband, Bill, and nephew, Matthew Duggan, all of Missouri City; two sons, Lynn Rector of Amarillo and Master Sgt. Stephen Rector of Chapin, S.C.; a daughter, Amy Garcia of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Cody, Sarah, Morgan, Alison, Hannah and Spencer Rector and Leah and Anissa Garcia; and his loving pets.
