Gary Lee Parks
April 19, 1947-September 17, 2024
Gary Lee Parks, 77, of Pampa, Texas, passed away peacefully while surrounded by family on Tuesday in the early evening hours of September 17, 2024. He was born April 19, 1947 attended Pampa High School and graduated in 1965. He went on to continue his education at West Texas University and entered the work force in the oilfield as an equipment salesman and eventually retired as a parts supervisor with Waukesha Pearce. In Gary's spare time, he was a collector of various guns, antiques and old cars. One of his favorite hobbies was tinkering with old engines. Gary had a special place in his heart for all animals and was reunited with several that have crossed the rainbow bridge.
Gary met his wife, Rosa, in 2010 and married three years later on April 19, 2013, (on his birthday) in Pampa. After they married, he devoted his life to taking care of Rosa in all her needs. She felt he made her a better person because he was a constant model of what it looked like to love and take care of family. He especially loved playing with and spending time with his grandkids. Gary was known for being very kind and helpful, always putting the needs of others before his own. In fact, Gary stopped traffic to pick up a nail in the street so it wouldn't end up in someone's tire. Another act of his selfless kindness was attending the funerals of those who had very little or no family to show support and compassion.
Always wearing a smile, cracking jokes to make others smile as well, and having a heart of gold, Gary's love of life and family will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Gary was met by his parents on the road to Heaven.
