Jerry Ray Rhine (1946-2017)

Jerry Ray Rhine, 70, of Justin, died Monday, Feb. 20, 2017, in Justin. 

His ashes will be buried at Pleasant Grove Cowboy Cemetery in a plot next to his mother, Frankie Miller Smith.

Jerry was born Sept. 8, 1946, in Decatur. He was the third child of six born to Arthur Claude Rhine Jr. and Frankie Lee Miller. 

He graduated from Pampa High School in 1965 and started an apprenticeship as a sheet metal worker and was a member of Sheet Metal Local 68. He worked in this field for 43 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a talented metal fabricator and enjoyed tinkering with metal and wood during his retirement, creating unique gifts for his family and friends.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Charles, Ronnie and Art; and his sister Claudia Marion.

He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Gary Cogburn; daughters Stacey Kay Rhine Brown and Geri Beth Rhine Smith; son-in-law Matthew Smith; grandchildren Katelyn, Conner and Cameron Burks and Benjamin, Jared and Samuel Smith; and many nephews and nieces.
